About Our Chapter

The Baton Rouge Delta Gamma Alumnae Chapter was founded in 1954, seven years after Delta Gamma colonized on LSU’s campus, establishing Gamma Zeta chapter. Since then, our alumnae chapter has grown up to 100 members, with over 500 alumnae living within the Greater Baton Rouge area. Per our bylaws, our chapter strives to provide the opportunity for friendship; provide an active interest in the Gamma Zeta chapter to ensure high social and scholastic standards; serve in advisory roles for Gamma Zeta and House Corporation Board; and to provide an opportunity for active participation in projects sponsored by our Delta Gamma Foundation.

Our chapter enjoys meeting on a regular basis and participating in a variety of activities. Recently, we have hosted wine tastings, learned to make delicious and easy appetizers with local celebrity chef Holly Clegg, joined Gamma Zeta Mother’s Club in exchanging desserts over the Holiday season, and painted our own masterpieces of a New Orleans Uptown house at Corks ‘N Canvas. This upcoming year is sure to include other entertaining, sisterhood experiences for our group. If you have an activity idea you’d like to share, please let us know!

We are always looking for new members and strongly encourage all Delta Gammas to pay their annual local and national dues. National dues are dedicated to run the Executive Offices and Delta Gamma fraternity; local dues pay for Baton Rouge Delta Gamma Alumnae events and provide snacks for Gamma Zetas during exam week. Our fiscal year begins July 1st and runs through June 30th. If you are interested in becoming a member, please click on the “Contact Us” link and someone will be in touch with you shortly.
